NHL players are now the only ones able to get hearing aids with which they can play at the highest level of play.
The NHL announced today that it will no longer allow players with hearing aids to use them in the postseason.
The league says it wants to make sure its players don’t have any risk associated with them during the playoffs.
Players must use an alternate device to help them communicate during games.
The hearing aid will no long be allowed to be used in the playoffs, which means the team’s doctor can prescribe the device.
The rule will be enforced in February.
Players can continue to wear their hearing aids during the regular season, but will have to wear the hearing aids outside of games.
